About Svarnim Puducherry

About Svarnim Puducherry

Svarnim Puducherry is a multi-faceted project of the Sri Aurobindo Society that aims to initiate and drive a new direction of growth in Puducherry and, eventually, across India. It was created to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence on August 15, 2022 and the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, a prominent leader in India’s independence movement and a pioneer in human evolution.

Svarnim Puducherry is an ongoing journey that will encompass various domains. While it primarily aims to be participatory, inviting new ideas for change from the public and turning them into tangible transformations, some of its components will be initiatives already underway within the Society to create sustainable, replicable models of development. Everyone is welcome to participate in these projects.

At its core, Svarnim Puducherry is a vision of building Puducherry as a model state, imbued with the spirit and consciousness of the true India. In the design and implementation of each of its components, Svarnim Puducherry aims to embody a pursuit of excellence, beauty, unity, creativity, and the highest human values.
